Paplu Rummy

The Indian version of Rummy is also known as Paplu. It is a very popular game in India. All sorts of people enjoy Paplu, and it is a famous game to pass the time. In India, people play paplu while commuting to or from work on trains and buses.

In a 21-card game, Upplu / Upper joker is a card of the same suit as that of the wild card joker and one rank above it. So, suppose 5 of spades is a wild card then 6 of spades is Upplu. In 27 card games, Upplu Joker is a card from the same suit as that of the wild card joker and both, one and two ranks above it. If 5 of hearts are wild card joker, then 6 and 7 of hearts are Upplu.

While, Lower / Nichlu joker in a 21-card game, is a card of the same suit as that of wild card joker and one rank below it. So, if 8 of diamonds is a wild card joker, then the 7 of diamonds is Nichlu. While, Nichlu Joker are cards that are of the same suit as that of wild card joker and both, one and two ranks below it. So, if 8 of diamonds is a wild card, then 7 and 6 of diamonds will be Nichlu.

Paplu in a 13 card game is a joker one rank above the wild card joker of the same suit. So, if 9 of spades is a wild card, then 10 of spades will be Paplu.

This is the same like any other rummy game, the same way it requires sets and runs to be made, but in this each set or run has to be a three-card set or run only.
